ICD projects are :

Proactive - proposed by member companies and approved by the ICD Board. The Board will review projects proposed by governments and UN agencies.

Co-operative - at least two member companies work with a UN agency, government or other partner.

Cost effective - goals, time frames and budgets are realistic; results are measurable; projects are easily transferred to new environments and lead to increased self-sufficiency and new initiatives.

Cost sharing - partners share the costs.
